Debts forgiven by will.
92-2-58 Debts forgiven by will. The discharge or bequest, in a will, of any debt or demand of a testator against any person shall be construed as a specific bequest of the debt or demand. The amount thereof shall be included in the inventory of the assets of the decedent. The amount of the indebtedness shall be set over to the debtor the same as any other specific bequest, included in the debtor's distributable share, and subjected to tax. Notes or other evidences of debt which are forgiven by provision made in any will and which are otherwise barred from collection by operation of law shall be exempt from Kansas inheritance tax.
